Ingredients
- 4 Egg Yolks from pasteurized Eggs
- 2/3 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 1/3 cups Whole Milk
- 1/3 cup Heavy Cream
- 1/4 cup Cognac or Brandy
- 2 tbsp Meyer's Dark Rum
- 2 1/2 oz Bourbon (I prefer Bulleit)
- 1/4 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- Pinch of Ground Nutmeg
- Pinch of Kosher Salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the 4 egg yolks and 2/3 cup of sugar until creamy and well blended.
- Stir in 1 1/3 cups whole milk, 1/3 cup heavy cream, 2 1/2 oz bourbon, 1/4 cup Cognac or Brandy, and 2 tbsp dark rum until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a one-gallon glass jar with a tight-fitting lid and refrigerate for at least 3 weeks and up to 1 year.
- When ready to serve, top with homemade whipped cream and freshly grated nutmeg.
