Ingredients

  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/3 honeycrisp apple, chopped
  • 2-3 orange slices
  • 5 oz. red wine (light-bodied Spanish variety)
  • 3/4 cup apple cider
  • 2 tbsp brandy
  • 1 tbsp orange juice (or juice from 1/2 medium orange)
  • Juice from 1/4 lemon
  • Club soda, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the cinnamon stick, chopped apple, and orange slices in a large pitcher.
  2. Add the red wine, apple cider, brandy, orange juice, and lemon juice to the pitcher.
  3. Allow the mixture to sit in the refrigerator for 6 - 24 hours.
  4. If desired, sweeten with 1-2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, honey, or agave.
  5. For a cinnamon-sugar rim, moisten the rim of the glasses with water and dip into a mix of cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Pour the sangria into the glasses with fruit and add a splash of club soda.
  7. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, if desired. Cheers!
