Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 ounces bourbon
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice
  • 3/4 ounce Simple Syrup (above)
  • 3 dashes hot sauce
  • 6 ounces beer
  • Chili pepper for garnish

Instructions

  1. To make the simple syrup, mix the sugar and water in a small saucepan and heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Refrigerate the simple syrup in an airtight container until ready to use.
  3. In an ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine the bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup, and hot sauce. Stir to chill.
  4. Pour the mixture into a glass and top with the beer.
  5. Garnish with a chili pepper.
