Ingredients

  • 1.50 cups tomato juice
  • 1.50 oz arak
  • 1 tsp harissa
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 3 tsp horseradish
  • 2 dashes hot sauce
  • 2 pinches ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch ground fennel seeds
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 stick celery
  • 1 sprig parsley
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 small plate mixed salt and ground fennel

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing glass, stir together the tomato juice, arak, harissa, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, horseradish, hot sauce, black pepper, fennel, and salt.
  2. Run the lemon wedge around the edge of a chilled highball glass.
  3. Turn the highball glass upside down onto a small plate of salt and ground fennel to create a salt rim.
  4. Fill the highball glass with ice cubes.
  5. Pour the cocktail mixture from the mixing glass into the highball glass.
  6. Garnish with a celery stick and parsley.
  7. Serve immediately.
