Ingredients

  • 1.50 cups tomato juice
  • 1.50 oz arak
  • 1 tsp harissa
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 3 tsp horseradish
  • 2 dashes hot sauce
  • 2 pinches ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch ground fennel seeds
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 stick celery
  • 1 sprig parsley
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 small plate mixed salt and ground fennel

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing glass, stir together the tomato juice, arak, harissa, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, horseradish, hot sauce, black pepper, fennel, and salt.
  2. Use a lemon wedge to wet the edge of a chilled highball glass.
  3. Turn the highball glass upside down onto a small plate of salt and ground fennel to create a salt rim.
  4. Fill the highball glass with ice cubes.
  5. Pour the cocktail from the mixing glass into the highball glass.
  6. Garnish with a celery stick and parsley.
  7. Serve immediately.
