Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup hot brewed strong espresso
  • 2 ounces Cuban espresso simple syrup
  • 3 dashes orange Angostura bitters
  • 1 ounce bourbon
  • orange peel (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and hot brewed strong espresso. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  2. Place a large square ice cube or ice ball in a whiskey glass.
  3. Pour the Cuban espresso simple syrup and add the orange Angostura bitters to the glass.
  4. Pour the bourbon over the mixture.
  5. Garnish with a strip of orange peel.
