Chilean Christmas Punch
A traditional Chilean Christmas punch, Cola de Mono is a delightful blend of milk, coffee, pisco, and warm spices, perfect for festive gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp cold water
- 1/8 oz Mexican cinnamon sticks (about 1 stick)
- 1 whole clove
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 1/2 oz brewed strong coffee, cold
- 1 1/2 oz Chilean pisco
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, bring the sugar, water, cinnamon sticks, and cloves to a boil.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, then set aside to cool to room temperature.
- Transfer the syrup, including the whole spices, to a large pitcher.
- Add the milk, coffee, pisco, and vanilla, and stir well to combine.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled, for a few hours or overnight.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of Cola de Mono into small tumbler glasses and serve cold.
