Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • 1/8 oz Mexican cinnamon sticks (about 1 stick)
  • 1 whole clove
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/2 oz brewed strong coffee, cold
  • 1 1/2 oz Chilean pisco
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the sugar, water, cinnamon sticks, and cloves to a boil.
  2. Simmer for 5 minutes, then set aside to cool to room temperature.
  3. Transfer the syrup, including the whole spices, to a large pitcher.
  4. Add the milk, coffee, pisco, and vanilla, and stir well to combine.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled, for a few hours or overnight.
  6. Pour about 1/2 cup of Cola de Mono into small tumbler glasses and serve cold.
