Ingredients

  • Cubed Ice
  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Tonic
  • Lemon wedge for garnish
  • Drinking straw

Instructions

  1. Squeeze half a lemon and measure 1 tbsp of lemon juice into a shaker filled with ice cubes.
  2. Add 1 tsp of granulated sugar and 1 1/2 oz of your favorite gin to the shaker.
  3. Close the shaker and shake well to combine the ingredients.
  4. Fill a cocktail glass with cubed ice.
  5. Pour the mixed ingredients directly into the glass, or if using a Boston shaker, strain the mix through a julep strainer into the glass.
  6. Fill the glass with 1 cup of tonic (one highball glass holds 240 ml (1 cup) to 350 ml (1 1/2 cups)).
  7. Garnish with a lemon wedge and a drinking straw.
