Cranberry Bourbon Slush Smash
A refreshing and not-too-sweet bourbon-based slush with the tangy flavor of cranberries, perfect for satisfying both drink and dessert cravings.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- Dash of salt
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 1/3 cups 80-proof bourbon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe container, combine 3/4 cup water, sugar, and a dash of salt. Microwave on HIGH for 3 minutes, then stir until the sugar dissolves.
- In a blender, combine the sugar syrup and cranberries, processing until smooth. Strain the mixture through a sieve lined with a double layer of cheesecloth into a bowl, pressing to extract the liquid. Discard the solids.
- In a freezer-safe bowl, mix the cranberry mixture, bourbon, and lemon juice thoroughly. Freeze the mixture overnight or until partially frozen.
- Scrape the mixture with a fork until it reaches a slushy consistency, then serve immediately.
