Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cranberry juice
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
- 1.50 oz bourbon whiskey
- 6 oz ginger beer
- Candied ginger for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepot, smash the peeled ginger using the back of a knife.
- Add the smashed ginger and cranberry juice to the saucepot and bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce the heat and simmer the mixture gently for 20 minutes.
- Remove the saucepot from heat, allow the infused cranberry juice to cool, and strain it through a fine mesh strainer to remove the ginger.
- Fill a whiskey glass with ice and pour in the reduced cranberry juice.
