Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean (split and seeds scraped out)
  • 3 earl grey tea bags (or 3 tsp loose tea)
  • 1 oz Whiskey (Jamesons)
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz earl grey simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz egg white
  • 1 twist lemon peel
  • 1 handful ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and vanilla bean, and bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add the earl grey tea bags, allowing them to steep for 5 minutes before removing them.
  3. Let the vanilla pod infuse with flavor, then cool and store the syrup in the fridge.
  4. In a cocktail shaker, combine whiskey, lemon juice, earl grey simple syrup, and egg white.
  5. Shake the mixture for 20 seconds, then add the ice and shake for an additional 10 seconds.
  6. Strain the mixture into a cocktail tumbler, add ice, and garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
