Ingredients

  • 2 oz Jameson Irish whiskey
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 6 oz freshly brewed hot coffee
  • 2 tbsp lightly whipped heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Fill a stemmed glass coffee mug with boiling water and swirl it to warm the mug. Discard the water.
  2. Pour the Jameson whiskey into the warmed glass.
  3. Add the brown sugar.
  4. Pour the hot coffee into the glass, leaving about an inch from the rim.
  5. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  6. Using an upside-down spoon, gently pour the whipped cream over the back of the spoon to float on top of the coffee.
  7. Optionally, garnish with a trimmed vanilla pod, cinnamon stick, or a grating of fresh nutmeg.
  8. Serve the coffee on a plate with no spoon and encourage sipping the coffee through the layer of cream.
