Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces red bitter apéritif
  • 1 ounce French blanc vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce gin
  • 1/4 ounce Cynar
  • 1/4 ounce Fernet-Branca
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 3 orange twists

Instructions

  1. In a mixing glass, combine the red bitter apéritif, French blanc vermouth, gin, Cynar, Fernet-Branca, and orange bitters.
  2. Fill the mixing glass two-thirds full with ice and stir for 15 to 20 seconds, until well-chilled.
  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass.
  4. Express the oil from two of the orange twists over the surface of the drink, then discard them.
  5. Garnish the drink with the third orange twist.
