Ingredients
- 2 oz Tequila (blanco or añejo, or gin or vodka)
- 2 oz Cranberry juice
- 1 oz Lime juice (fresh squeezed)
- 1/2 oz Cointreau (or triple sec)
- 3-5 Fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 oz Simple syrup
- 1 tbsp Kosher salt (for rimming the glass)
- Cranberries (for garnish)
Instructions
- If making sugared cranberries, toss a handful of fresh cranberries in simple syrup, then coat them in dry cane sugar. Leave them out to dry or place them in the oven at its lowest temperature setting to dry faster.
- Squeeze fresh lime juice using a citrus juicer.
- Rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, then dip it in kosher salt on a small plate to coat the rim.
- Measure out the tequila, cranberry juice, lime juice, Cointreau, and simple syrup. Pick the mint leaves.
- In a cocktail shaker, add a handful of ice cubes, then pour in the lime juice, tequila, cranberry juice, Cointreau, simple syrup, and a few fresh mint leaves.
- Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Add a few ice cubes to the rimmed glass.
- Strain the cocktail evenly into the glass.
- Optionally, top it off with seltzer water or champagne if there's extra room in the glass.
- Garnish the glass with a fresh mint sprig and a few sugared cranberries. Serve cold and enjoy!
