Ingredients

  • 2 oz mezcal or silver tequila
  • 0.50 oz orange liquor
  • 2 oz apple cider
  • 2 oz no-sugar cranberry juice
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 0.25 cup ginger beer
  • apples, cinnamon, and/or rosemary for serving
  • 1 tbsp coarse sugar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup candied ginger pieces, finely chopped
  • 0.50 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Optionally, rim your glass by coating the rim with a mixture of coarse sugar, granulated sugar, ginger, and cinnamon.
  2. Fill the glass with ice.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine mezcal or tequila, apple cider, cranberry juice, and orange liquor. Shake well, then fill the shaker with ice and shake for 1 minute. Pour into your prepared glass.
  4. Top the drink with ginger beer.
  5. Garnish with apple slices, cinnamon sticks, and rosemary. Optionally, light the cinnamon stick or use star anise for a smoky effect.
  6. To Make a Mocktail: omit the tequila and use 0.25 cup apple cider with 0.25 to 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar.
