Florida Sunshine Sipper
A vibrant and refreshing whiskey cooler inspired by the colors and resilience of Florida A&M, with the depth of black tea and the zest of orange liqueur.
Ingredients
- 1.50 black tea bags or 1/2 tablespoon loose black tea
- 2 large mint leaves, plus extra mint sprig for garnish
- Ice
- 2 oz small-batch whiskey, such as Uncle Nearest 1884
- 2 oz peach nectar (or mango nectar)
- 1/2 oz orange liqueur
- 1/4 oz pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Boil 2 1/2 cups of water in a kettle. Remove from heat and transfer 2 cups of water to a heatproof vessel.
- Steep the black tea in the hot water for 10 minutes, then let it cool to room temperature.
- Gently muddle the mint leaves in a cocktail shaker.
- Add ice, whiskey, peach nectar, orange liqueur, vanilla extract, and 3 oz of the prepared tea to the shaker.
- Shake for 30 seconds.
- Strain the cocktail into a highball glass filled with ice and garnish with a mint sprig.
