Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon hot water
  • 1/2 cup freshly brewed coffee, chilled
  • 3 tablespoons Irish whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a sturdy resealable plastic bag, crush the ice cubes using a meat mallet.
  2. In a pitcher, combine the sugar and hot water, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the chilled coffee, Irish whiskey, and chocolate syrup to the pitcher, stirring to combine.
  4. Fill a serving glass with the crushed ice, then pour the coffee mixture over the top.
  5. In a bowl, whip the heavy cream and optional sugar with a mixer until soft peaks form.
