Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup ripe and depitted yellow plums, cut into chunks
  • 2 tablespoons organic cane sugar
  • 6 oz dry white wine, such as Riesling or Riesling Sylvaner
  • 1 tablespoon crème de cassis
  • 2-3 sprigs of lavender or mint for garnish
  • Crushed ice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the yellow plums into chunks and combine them with sugar in a large wide-mouthed pitcher or bowl. Let it sit for about 30 minutes.
  2. Pour the dry white wine into the pitcher with the plum and sugar mixture.
  3. Cover and chill the mixture overnight for the fruit to absorb the alcohol.
  4. The next evening, ladle the chilled drink over crushed ice, if desired, in wide-brimmed wine glasses and ensure each drink has some fruit.
  5. Add the desired amount of crème de cassis to each drink, adjusting the color and flavor to your preference.
  6. Garnish each drink with a sprig of fresh lavender or mint.
