Ingredients

  • 6 oz apple cider
  • 2 oz dry red wine
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp chopped dried orange peel
  • 1 tsp chopped dried ginger root
  • 1 tsp chopped cinnamon chips
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 2 whole allspice berries

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine apple cider, red wine, maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, dried orange peel, ginger root, cinnamon chips, cloves, and allspice berries.
  2. Heat the mixture gently and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, cover, and let it steep for another 5 minutes.
  4. Strain off the spices and pour the warm mulled wine into a mug.
  5. Garnish with orange and/or apple slices.
