Ingredients

  • 1 oz Japanese whisky
  • 4 oz club soda
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice and stir for about 30 seconds to chill the glass and smooth the ice.
  2. Pour off any melted ice water.
  3. Add the Japanese whisky and stir for 3-5 seconds or 13.5 turns clockwise.
  4. Using a bar spoon, gently pour the club soda down the spoon to the bottom of the glass, lifting the bottom ice cube, or tilt the glass and pour the club soda gently down the side of the glass.
  5. Do a brief gentle stir or stir 3.5 times clockwise.
