Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried lavender
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (roughly chopped + more for garnish)
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey OR coconut and or granulated sugar*
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the dried lavender and 1/2 cup of water to a boil. If using coconut or granulated sugar, add it to the water. Remove from heat and add the basil, then cover and let it steep for 10 minutes.
  2. Squeeze the lemon juice into a tall glass pitcher and stir in the honey (unless sugar was added earlier). Then, stir in 1/2 cup water.
  3. Once the basil has steeped, strain the mixture into the pitcher with the lemon juice. Stir well and adjust sweetness to taste by adding more honey or water.
  4. Chill the lemonade in the fridge until cold.
  5. To serve, pour the lemonade over a glass of crushed ice. Garnish with lavender and basil. Enjoy!
