Ingredients

  • 2 ounces reposado tequila
  • Juice from one lime (about 1 ounce of lime juice) plus a lime wedge for the salt rim
  • 1-2 teaspoons agave nectar (optional)
  • Kosher salt or flakey salt
  • 1 ounce Grand Marnier (orange liqueur)

Instructions

  1. Chill a margarita or low ball glass in the freezer.
  2. Combine reposado tequila, lime juice, and agave nectar in a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  4. Strain the margarita into the chilled glass filled with ice or without, based on preference.
  5. Run a lime wedge across the top or half portion of the glass and dip into kosher salt, if desired.
  6. Pour or 'float' the Grand Marnier over the top of the margarita before serving.
