Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1/3 cup maple whiskey or bourbon
- 1/2 cup plain seltzer
Instructions
- Melt butter in a small heavy-bottomed saucepan.
- Add brown sugar and simmer, whisking constantly until smooth and slightly lighter in color.
- Whisk in cream and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat, and whisk in vanilla and salt.
- In a separate saucepan, warm whiskey (or bourbon) and seltzer until simmering.
