Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • Zest from 2 large oranges
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice (about 2 large oranges)
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Champagne

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine water, sugar, marmalade, and orange zest. Heat over medium heat until it bubbles, then simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  3. Mix in the orange and lemon juice, then process in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's directions.
  4. Transfer the sorbet to a container and freeze until set.
  5. Scoop the sorbet into champagne flutes and pour champagne over the top.
  6. Serve immediately.
