Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (use plant-based milk for a vegan version)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 oz white chocolate (substitute with vegan white chocolate)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract (oil-based extract)
  • 1 1/2 oz white rum
  • 3/4 oz white chocolate liqueur (or 3/8 oz vanilla vodka - also vegan friendly)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the milk, salt, and cornstarch. Whisk to dissolve the cornstarch.
  2. Add the white chocolate, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract to the saucepan.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium-high heat, whisking regularly to melt the white chocolate.
  4. Bring the white hot chocolate to a bare simmer, making sure not to boil it.
  5. Stir in the rum and white chocolate liqueur.
