Ingredients

  • 1 oz bourbon
  • 1 oz Cognac
  • 1 oz aged rum
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1.50 farm-fresh eggs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • a sprinkle of freshly grated nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs.
  2. Whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until they thicken and become pale in color.
  3. Slowly add the bourbon, Cognac, rum, milk, and cream while continuously whisking to incorporate air into the mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites and salt together until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the mixture.
  6. Bottle the eggnog and refrigerate until chilled, preferably overnight.
  7. When ready to serve, pour into a chilled glass and sprinkle freshly grated nutmeg on top.
