Ingredients

  • Ice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 1/2 oz citron vodka
  • 1 oz pomegranate liquor
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon pure pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon pure maple syrup, dark or amber, or agave nectar
  • 1 tablespoon pomegranate arils for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill a large martini glass with ice and water and set aside.
  2. Sprinkle sugar on a plate and set aside.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  4. Add vodka, pomegranate liquor, lemon juice, pomegranate juice, and maple syrup or agave.
  5. Cover the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds.
  6. Empty the ice water out of the martini glass.
  7. Dip the rim of the glass into the plate of sugar to coat the edges.
  8. Strain the martini mixture into the glass.
  9. Sprinkle pomegranate arils into the martini for garnish.
  10. Serve immediately.
