Ingredients

  • Mixed dried fruits, such as apricot halves, pitted plums, tart red cherries, figs, and apple slices (about 2 tablespoons total)
  • 1/3 cup port wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup club soda, chilled
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Thread the mixed dried fruits onto a 6-inch wooden skewer.
  2. Place the skewer in a heavy self-sealing plastic bag, and pour the port wine and lemon juice over the fruit skewer, ensuring it's coated.
  3. Seal the bag and refrigerate overnight, turning the bag occasionally.
  4. To serve, remove the fruit skewer from the bag and discard the bag and liquid.
  5. Pour the port and club soda into a tall, thin glass.
  6. Add the fruit skewer and ice cubes.
  7. Serve immediately.
