Ingredients

  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 black tea bags
  • 6 cups cold water
  • 3 cups crushed ice, plus more for serving
  • 24 ounces bourbon (approximately one 750 milliliter bottle)
  • Garnish: 16 mint sprigs
  • Garnish: 16 lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Combine boiling water and sugar, stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add tea bags and steep for 5 minutes, then remove and discard.
  3. Pour the tea mixture into a pitcher, add cold water, bourbon, and ice. Stir well.
  4. Refrigerate until serving.
  5. To serve, divide between 16 ice-filled glasses.
  6. Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and a mint sprig.
