Ingredients
- 2 oz dark chocolate, 70%, chopped
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp dark brown sugar
- 3/4 cup milk, of choice
- 1 oz mezcal
- 1 oz Madeira wine
- Whipped cream, for serving
- Chocolate shavings, for serving
- 1 glass mug
Instructions
- Make the hot fudge sauce: Mix together the chopped dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and salt in a heat-proof bowl.
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Cook until it begins to boil, then pour over the chocolate mixture. Whisk until smooth.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk and 1/4 cup of the hot fudge sauce. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add the mezcal and Madeira, stir to combine, then pour into a glass mug.
- Top with freshly whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Serve immediately.
