Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon real butter (room temp)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8-1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of cloves (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla ice cream (slightly softened)
  • 1-1 1/2 teaspoons butter batter
  • 1-1 1/2 ounces dark rum (omit for non-alcoholic version)
  • Hot Water (or substitute with Hot Cider)
  • Optional Whipped Cream to top
  • Fresh Nutmeg or Cinnamon sprinkled on top

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the butter, sugars, and spices until creamy and light.
  2. Add the softened ice cream and mix until smooth, then place the batter in a container with a lid and freeze.
  3. Boil water, then place a tablespoon of the butter batter into a heat-safe mug.
  4. Pour in the dark rum and top off with hot water.
  5. Optionally, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg.
  6. For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum and make with hot cider.
