This cocktail, the Nor’easter, is a creation of Bill and Jessica, NYC-based bartenders turned Lexington locals. It's a delightful mix of bourbon, apple brandy, Ancho Reyes, and citrus, with a smoky and sweet flavor profile. The addition of maple syrup and the unique hint of spice from Ancho Reyes create a perfect storm of flavors in a glass.
Southern Spice Smash
The Nor’easter is a delightful bourbon-based cocktail with apple brandy, Ancho Reyes, and a hint of citrus and maple syrup, creating a perfect storm of smoky and sweet flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces Four Roses Single Barrel bourbon
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 ounce apple brandy
- 1/2 ounce Ancho Reyes liqueur
- 1/2 ounce maple syrup
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce lime juice
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a shaker and shake with one cube of ice for at least 30 seconds to create a good foam.
- Shake again with ice to chill the mixture.
- Strain the cocktail into a coupe glass and garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
