Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2-inch piece of ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons loose dried hibiscus or 1 hibiscus tea bag
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz spiced hibiscus infusion
  • 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 egg white or 1 tablespoon aquafaba
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water, ginger, cinnamon, and hibiscus. Bring to a simmer for about 10 minutes until dark red in color and very aromatic. Strain and refrigerate to cool.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine lemon juice, vodka, hibiscus infusion, maple syrup, and egg white or aquafaba. Shake without ice for about 15 seconds.
  3. Add ice to the shaker and shake for another 15 seconds to chill the drink and strengthen the foam.
  4. Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with ice and enjoy! Garnish with a cinnamon stick and hibiscus flowers if desired.
