Ingredients
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2-inch piece of ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 1/2 tablespoons loose dried hibiscus or 1 hibiscus tea bag
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 1/2 oz vodka
- 2 oz spiced hibiscus infusion
- 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/2 egg white or 1 tablespoon aquafaba
- Ice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine water, ginger, cinnamon, and hibiscus. Bring to a simmer for about 10 minutes until dark red in color and very aromatic. Strain and refrigerate to cool.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine lemon juice, vodka, hibiscus infusion, maple syrup, and egg white or aquafaba. Shake without ice for about 15 seconds.
- Add ice to the shaker and shake for another 15 seconds to chill the drink and strengthen the foam.
- Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with ice and enjoy! Garnish with a cinnamon stick and hibiscus flowers if desired.
