Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 inch piece of ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons loose dried hibiscus or 1 hibiscus tea bag
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 2 ounces spiced hibiscus infusion
  • 1/2 ounce maple syrup
  • 1/2 egg white or 1 tablespoon aquafaba
  • ice

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water, sliced ginger, cinnamon stick, and hibiscus. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes until dark red in color and aromatic. Strain and refrigerate until cool.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine lemon juice, vodka, hibiscus infusion, maple syrup, and egg white or aquafaba. Shake without ice for about 15 seconds.
  3. Add ice to the shaker and shake for another 15 seconds to chill the drink and enhance the foam.
  4. Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice and enjoy! Optionally, garnish with a cinnamon stick and hibiscus flowers.
