Ingredients

  • 1 medium orange
  • 5 oz. red wine
  • 1 1/2 oz. spiced rum
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 clove
  • 1 star anise pod
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Slice the orange into rounds, reserving a few slices for garnish.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the red wine, spiced rum, remaining orange slices, cinnamon stick, clove, star anise, and granulated sugar.
  3. Gently heat the mixture until just below simmering, around 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse without boiling the wine.
