Ingredients

  • 1/4 habanero chile pepper
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 medium English cucumber
  • 1 1/4 tbsp Saint Germain liqueur
  • 1 oz plain vodka
  • Cucumber slices, fresh mint sprigs, and thinly sliced fresh ginger (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove stem from habanero pepper and cut into quarters.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine pepper, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Simmer for 5 minutes, then cool completely.
  3. Coarsely chop cucumber and blend in a blender with the cooled sugar water until smooth.
  4. Strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a glass bowl.
  5. Discard any remaining pulp in the sieve.
  6. Add Saint Germain and vodka to the strained cucumber liquid.
  7. To serve, fill cocktail glasses halfway with ice and pour about 6 ounces of the drink into each glass.
  8. Garnish with cucumber slices, fresh mint sprigs, and ginger slices if desired.
