Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 spiced chai black tea bag (or plain black tea)
- 1 strip of orange peel
- 2-3 whole cloves
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- 2-3 whole black peppercorns
- 1/8 tsp freshly grated ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- A pinch of cardamom pods (optional)
- 3/4 Tbsp light brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup 1% milk (or milk of your choice)
- 1 oz spiced rum
- 1/2 oz Cointreau (or orange liqueur of your choice)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water, tea bag, orange peel, spices, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, then let it steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve, pressing on the tea bag, and discarding the solids.
- Warm the milk until simmering over low heat. Add the rum and orange liqueur, then blend until frothy using an immersion blender or regular blender.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired and serve warm.
