Ingredients

  • 2 oz strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons tequila
  • 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 cup grapefruit soda

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes until the liquid turns dark red.
  3. Strain the syrup into a bowl, allowing it to cool.
  4. In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine the tequila, lime juice, and 1/4 cup of the strawberry syrup.
  5. Shake well, then strain evenly into a highball glass with ice.
