Ingredients

  • 1 (0.3 oz) box red Jell-o
  • 2 (0.25 oz) unflavored gelatin packets
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup tequila
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water (divided)
  • 1 cup cold water
  • Whipped cream (optional garnish)
  • Maraschino cherries (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place empty shot cups on a flat surface or baking sheet.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the red Jell-o with 1 cup of boiling water until fully dissolved. Then add the cold water and stir.
  3. Fill each shot cup 1/4 full with the Jell-o mixture and refrigerate for about an hour until set.
  4. In another bowl, mix the orange juice with the unflavored gelatin and let it sit until the gelatin is fully dissolved.
  5. Add 1/2 cup of boiling water and stir until the gelatin has dissolved, then add the tequila and stir.
  6. Fill the shot cups with the orange tequila mixture until they are 3/4 full and refrigerate for about 1.5 hours until set.
  7. Garnish with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry, if desired.
