Ingredients

  • Water or lime wedge cut in center (for salted rim, optional)
  • Coarse sea salt (for salted rim, optional)
  • Freshly grated lime and orange zest (for salted rim, optional)
  • 2 ounces tequila (preferably reposado)
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur (preferably Cointreau or Grand Marnier for top shelf)
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. If desired, prepare a salted rim by moistening the rim of the glass with water or a lime slice, then dip it into a mixture of coarse sea salt and zests, or use a lime wedge to moisten the rim.
