Vanilla Bean Coffee Martini
A luxurious coffee martini with a blend of rich coffee, sweet vanilla, and smooth rum.
Ingredients
- 10 to 12 coffee beans
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped
- 2 ounces Pyrat Rum XO Reserve (or bourbon)
- 3 tablespoons half and half
Instructions
- Crush the coffee beans using a mortar and pestle or a heavy skillet on a cutting board.
- In a saucepan, simmer the sugar and water, then add the scraped vanilla seeds to make vanilla simple syrup. Let it cool.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the crushed coffee beans, 1 tablespoon of vanilla simple syrup, rum, and half-and-half.
- Shake well for at least 30 seconds.
- Strain the drink into a chilled martini glass using a fine mesh strainer, discarding the coffee beans.
- Serve chilled.
