Ingredients

  • 1 cup White Wine (Chardonnay or Riesling)
  • 1/4 cup Orange Juice
  • Juice from 1/2 Mandarin
  • 2 tablespoons Orange Liqueur (Triple Sec)
  • 1 Lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 Orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 2 Allspice Berries
  • 1-2 Cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the white wine, orange juice, and orange liqueur.
  2. Add the sliced orange, lemon, and the assorted spices.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer over low heat.
  4. After 15 minutes, taste the mixture and adjust sweetness with sugar if needed.
  5. Allow it to simmer for another 15 minutes, tasting occasionally.
  6. For a stronger flavor, you can leave it on low heat for an hour or more.
