- 1 cup White Wine (Chardonnay or Riesling)
- 1/4 cup Orange Juice
- Juice from 1/2 Mandarin
- 2 tablespoons Orange Liqueur (Triple Sec)
- 1 Lemon, thinly sliced
- 1/4 Orange, thinly sliced
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 1 Star Anise
- 2 Allspice Berries
- 1-2 Cloves
- 1 teaspoon Sugar (or to taste)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the white wine, orange juice, and orange liqueur.
- Add the sliced orange, lemon, and the assorted spices.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over low heat.
- After 15 minutes, taste the mixture and adjust sweetness with sugar if needed.
- Allow it to simmer for another 15 minutes, tasting occasionally.
- For a stronger flavor, you can leave it on low heat for an hour or more.
